As part of the Women of Today Award and Business Forum: Female Perspectives – Leading Change, organized by Gala Media Group at the JW Marriott Hotel, businesswoman Ligia Bonetti was honored with the Businesswoman of the Year award for her transformative leadership career and her firm commitment to sustainable development, inclusion, and the country’s progress.
The forum brought together prominent business leaders and national authorities in a space for dialogue focused on the challenges, opportunities, and social impact of female leadership today. As part of the program, the Women of Today award was also presented to Mercedes Capellán, Odile Camilo, and Raquel Peña Izquierdo for their outstanding work in various sectors.
During her speech, Ligia Bonetti, Executive President of Grupo SID, stated:
“I have committed to a leadership model that prioritizes coherence as a cornerstone, one where ideas do not remain mere rhetoric, but are reflected in practice, generating sustainable opportunities that build development environments, promoting an organizational culture based on dignity, merit, and inclusion.”
In a call to action for a society based on excellence and equity, she added:
“I do not believe in shortcuts, nor in quotas that replace effort with symbolic representation. I believe in equal opportunities built on real competencies, in excellence as a principle, in access as a right, and in talent—without labels—as the engine of progress.”
The event was attended by Ruddy de los Santos, CEO of Gala Media Group, as well as the award winners, figures from the business and government sectors, representatives of the national press, and the general public.
With this recognition, Ligia Bonetti reaffirms her vision of purposeful leadership, oriented toward the social and business transformation of the Dominican Republic.
