Grupo SID and the Instituto Tecnológico de las Américas (ITLA), signed an inter-institutional collaboration agreement that will benefit with five scholarships to students admitted with 100% coverage to study in technological careers in the areas of Analytical Technology and Data Science, Industrial Design Technology, Renewable Energy Technology, Artificial Intelligence Technology, and Automated Manufacturing Technology.
Through this initiative, Grupo SID materializes the mission of creating welfare through its EducaSID program, contributing to the acquisition of new knowledge and skills for young people that allow them to sow their destiny and can contribute to productivity, growth, and advancement of the country for a more sustainable future.
The agreement was signed by Nieves Ramos, Corporate Director of Human Management of Grupo SID, and Omar Méndez Lluberes, Rector of ITLA, with the commitment to cover the costs of enrollment, re-enrollment, and coverage of the credits corresponding to each subject taken within the technical career subject to scholarship until completing the curriculum, in addition, students may be part of the SID Family in the internship programs at the facilities of the conglomerate.
“We believe that education is the most transformative and driving tool the country has to move forward, be more competitive and respond to the speed changes required. And this is why agreements such as this one we are signing today with ITLA generate great enthusiasm,” said Nieves Ramos.
For his part, Méndez Lluberes highlighted the importance of this agreement for the country’s socioeconomic development since it provides equal opportunities to talented young people in vulnerable conditions to build a prosperous future.
“The development of the Dominican Republic requires that the public and private sectors work hand in hand to generate conditions conducive to growth and inclusive progress,” said the rector after appreciating Grupo SID’s interest in helping to broaden access for young people to cutting-edge careers.
Ramos indicated that “the world demands professional profiles trained in technologies that generate innovative and creative solutions to face current challenges and that this alliance with ITLA represents Grupo SID’s commitment to strengthening STEAM competencies in the Dominican Republic through the EducaSID program.”
