MercaSID was founded in April 1999, dedicated to providing consumers with the best products for the home and family. Leader in producing and distributing oils, edible fats and cereals, brands, and mass consumption in family care, groceries, and beverages.
“Sociedad Industrial Dominicana, C. por A.” (SID) was founded in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, on July 1, 1937, by Jesús Armenteros Seisdedos and José María Bonetti Burgos, as a company dedicated to the production of edible vegetable oils.
Through the years, La Manicera, as it was popularly known, expanded the range of products offered to the Dominican consumer, introducing different varieties of oils, margarine, and washing soaps.
On June 1, 1971, it signed a Technical Advisory and Distribution Agreement (Royalty Agreement) with Unilever Export Limited.
Since 2015 the company MercaSID, S.A. has had its RSPO (Sustainable Palm Oil) certification in Supply Chain “Mass Balance” (CU RSPO SCC No. 845373).
This certification promotes sustainable palm oil production, traceability, and use for people, the planet, and prosperity through cooperation within the supply chain and open dialogue among its stakeholders. We also maintain a palm oil traceability verification program.

With this agreement, MercaSID will soon expand the presence of its Crisol Oil product in the United States by incorporating it into Walmart stores in the eastern part of the country.
